New MP will raise number of women in the VRU

On February 14 eight new MPs of the Ukrainian Parliament swore their oaths of allegiance at this morning's plenary sitting. The following six MPs joined the parliamentary faction of the Party of
Regions: Serhiy Andros, Anatoliy Stepanenko, Volodymyr Lytvynov, Vasyl Yevtukhov, Pavlo Soltus, Ihor Zvarych. Volodymyr Leshchenko is now an MP of the faction of the Communist Party and Stanislav Berezkin an MP from the opposition Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc.

All eight MPs will take the place of MPs who earlier this month gave up their mandates in order to work in the executive branch of power. Yesterday, the Central Electoral Commission registered the new MPs.

A representative of the Party of Regions, Olena Netetska, was registered an MP at a later date, on February 17.
